Feed Tara Tannic Acid
Derived from natural plants, improves gastrointestinal health of animals
Industry Insights
Green and sustainable breeding are major trends
Zinc restriction/ban is coming
The European Union officially banned pharmacological doses of zinc oxide on June 27, 2022;
China will halve the amount of zinc oxide added to feed on July 1, 2020
High “zinc” harms the environment and human health
If zinc oxide is added to animal feed in large doses for a long time, animal feces containing zinc will be discharged into the soil and penetrate into water sources. Zinc is a heavy metal that will cause huge pollution to the environment and harm human health.
“Taranutri”, a green feed additive that replaces “zinc”
Through continuous innovation and breakthroughs, Tara Biotech has launched a green feed addition solution-Taranutri™ to promote the transformation and upgrading of the breeding industry and help China's green breeding.

TaraNutri™ Feed Tara Tannic Acid
Taranutri™ is an animal intestinal health solution launched by TaraBio. It uses tannic acid extracted from natural plant Tara to replace antibiotics and zinc oxide treatment options to control animal diarrhea, prevent and reduce intestinal infections, and increase the growth rate of animals.
What is tannic acid?
Tannin, also known as tannic acid or tannic acid, is a natural polyphenol produced by vascular plants. It has a molecular weight of 500-3000 Da and is widely found in the seeds, leaves, stems, flowers, fruits, and skins of plants. , is a secondary metabolite used by plants for defense.
Tannins, as natural extracts of plant polyphenols, have been widely used in the field of animal nutrition
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) defines tannins as “natural flavor substances and safe natural extract ingredients.”
In 2016, the European Commission issued implementing regulations that hydrolyzable tannins can be used as feed additives in all livestock species.
Product core features
TaraNutri™ is a tannin extracted from the natural plant Tara. It has good anti-diarrheal, antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, antiparasitic and other effects. It can improve the growth performance of livestock and poultry, increase feed utilization, reduce antibiotics and The use of zinc oxide improves the overall health and growth index of animals and the safety of animal products.
Convergence Effect
Reduce intestinal peristalsis, reduce tissue fluid leakage, and reduce diarrhea rate
Anti-inflammatory Effect
Improve gut health and improve feed utilization
Antibacterial Effect
Inhibit harmful intestinal bacteria, adjust the balance of intestinal flora, and improve growth index
Anti-oxidize Effect
It has a good control effect on the scavenging of intestinal free radicals and the production of peroxides.
Why Choose TaraNutri™
Improve overall gastrointestinal health of animals – hydrolyzable tannins are even more effective
It has been verified by research that Taratannic acid is hydrolyzed tannic acid, which is more beneficial to the gastrointestinal health of animals.
Diarrhea test on a pig farm in Yongzhou, Hunan, China: The test was divided into 6 replicates, with 7 pigs in each replicate, 0-14 days after weaning.
A chicken farm test in Henan: one building is the control group and the other is the experimental group. Each building raises 40,000 white-feather broiler chickens (Cobb500). The experimental group adds 200 grams of TaraNutri/ton as a full-price diet. The hydrolyzable tannin content in TaraNutri is 45%.
Green raw materials – Natural plant Tara
The product is 100% derived from the natural plant of Tara in Peru. The production and processing process is a complete physical process without adding any additives or chemicals.
Green and Natural
Phytoconine is derived from the fruit of the natural plant Tara and is a green natural product.
Recyclable
Tara fruit regenerates every year, essentially the plant converts sunlight, water and carbon dioxide into the tara fruit.
Green supply chain – mature supply chain ensures product quality and supply
We have the world’s leading artificial-scale Tara planting base and production and processing plant in Peru to ensure product quality and continuous supply.
The world’s leading artificial-scale Tara plantation
Ensure a stable supply of raw materials
35,000 acres of Tara planting base: There are 35,000 acres of Tara plantation in the ICA and OLMOS regions of Peru. It is currently the only large-scale artificial Tara plantation in Peru. 4,500 acres have been planted and 30,000 acres are still to be planted. Match the market development needs and adjust the planting scale at any time.
The harvest of Tara fruit is increased by 2-3 times: We use seed bioengineering technology and planting technology, which is more productive and easier to scale up than other enclosed plantings.
Leading modern Tara production plant
Ensure product quality and supply stability
GA&PG factory: with a production capacity of 2,000 tons/year of gallic acid and propyl ester to meet the growing needs of lyocell fiber, food, and electronic industries.
Tara tannic acid production factory: The modern Tara tannin factory located in Peru covers an area of 11,000 square meters and can produce 15,000 tons of Tara tannic acid annually to meet the growing demand for tannic acid and downstream derivatives.
Carbon Life Cycle Certified Factory
Green Sustainable Development
Our Peruvian factories and plantations have obtained the Level 1 Carbon Life Cycle Certification from the Peruvian Ministry of Environmental Protection. We have achieved preliminary results in green and low-carbon construction in the entire process of planting, production and transportation. Next, we will continue to deepen green and low-carbon construction and move towards carbon neutrality.
